Religion and ethics

NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.

During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.

You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.

RHHS SRE is delivered on Wednesday Period 2 for Year 8 (during semester 1) and Year 7 (during semsester 2). 

Upon enrolment parents/carers will be given the SRE participation letter to complete and return within the enrolment pack. 

Christian SRE is provided by Anglicare Sydney. For more information about christian SRE, including the authorised cirriculum scope and sequence, please visit the following websites:

During the time that SRE classes are being held, students not attending will be within their normal timetabled lessons. Importantly, no new work will be within classes while SRE is being conducted.

Rooty Hill High School is situated on Darug land. The Rooty Hill High School community would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we have the privilege to live, work and share each day. We acknowledge and work on maintaining strong relationships with members of the community and our Elders that assist with continuing our Aboriginal Education journey. We would like to pay respect to all Elders who have come before us; they inspire us to make a positive cultural and educational change.
