At Rooty Hill High School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

Our extra-curricular highlights
Sporting Opportunities
Students can build a variety of skills through our sport opportunities. Students can participate in local and state sport teams for volleyball, soccer, football, oz tag, basketball and netball.
Creative and Performing Arts
Our drama, music and art programs help students be creative and express themselves. They can join in concerts, art shows and drama activities.
Growth in the classroom and beyond
Our school has many opportunities for students to grow beyond the classroom, through links with universities and community partnerships.
Cultural and Language Activities - Haka Warriors
The PCYC Haka Warrior Program 2025 is a cultural initiative designed to foster unity, respect, leadership, and cultural awareness among Pasifika young people in Western Sydney and the Central Coast. Spanning 20 weeks, the program combines workshops, interactive activities, and community events to promote cultural understanding, social skills, and peer mentoring.

Student Ambassadors and SRC
Our Year 7 students have the opportunity to participate in training to become a student school ambassador. Student ambassador's assist the front office staff with various tasks like collecting students from class or delivering faculty mail to staffrooms. Students who are involved in the student representative council, assist staff with planning and coordinating school activities like Harmony in Diversity Day or fundraising mufti days. Our SRC consists of students from Year 7 through to Year 12.
Senior Leadership Opportunities
Our Year 12 senior leadership team consists of school captains, principal's representatives, SRC chairs, sports captains, community engagement and year group senior leaders. Students apply for their desired positions in Year 11 and are voted in by the school community.
Excursions
Our students enjoy getting out of the classroom to explore, learn and try new things. These experiences help them grow, build confidence and see how their learning connects to the world.
