Facilities and resources
Our school offers a range of spaces, tools and resources to support student learning. Whether it’s for study, sport, creativity or technology, our learning environments and resources give students what they need to succeed.
Our school facilities
We offer a range of learning environments. They help students stay engaged, build confidence and enjoy every part of their school day. Our facilities include:
- bright and comfortable classrooms
- art, music and performance spaces for creative learning
- science labs, kitchens and textiles spaces for hands-on experiences
- sports ovals and gym equipment for fitness
- a well-stocked library for reading and research
Resources and technology
Our resources help students learn, create and stay connected. We have access to shared programs and tools available to all schools in the state.
The school's major equity strategy is to ensure every student at the school has access to an electronic learning device, the school's Google domain, Google classrooms, DoE Educhat and online academic software to use for homework and study.
Evidence over the last 5 years has demonstrated how important it is for a school with 77% of students in the lowest Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) quartiles (see above) to ensure every student has access to learning using technology platforms and the capacity to use technology fluently in learning and assessment. After assessing the impact of families being unable to afford a school device, the school has moved from a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program to a school supported digital device program in Years 7 to 9; with BYOD continuing as an option in Years 10-12.
Rooty Hill High School owns and manages a Google Domain. In order to access all of the Google Applications, including Google Docs, Google Classroom and Google Drive, parental permission needs to be given.
