Attendance

Regular attendance at school is essential for students to achieve quality life outcomes. The School Attendance Policy sets out the requirements for the attendance of students in NSW government schools.

Absence

If a student is absent from school due to illness or family matters and it is likely they will only be absent for less than 3 days, please contact the attendance team.

Leave

Principal approval is needed for any leave involving more than 3 days, for reasons including:

• holidays
• family circumstances (e.g. funeral)
• religious reasons
• Sorry Business

If you are planning on applying for leave, please download and complete this application form.

This form must be emailed or handed to the attendance office.  Please attach any related travel documents in order for it to be processed. Once received by the school, a member of the attendance team will be in contact regarding the application for leave.

Students will then be given an assessment table form to consult their teachers about class work and assessment completion during the intended leave period.

An exemption from school attendance or enrolment may be granted under extenuating circumstances, including / not limited to:

• Representative Sport
• Traineeship / Apprenticeship
• Exceptional Domestic Situations
• Alternate Paths of Study
